The peroxide experiment
I've been dosing 1ml of 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons in my tank to get rid of my cyano.
I'm using three points of reference, the pump for my HOB skimmer, an intake for my currently non-functioning canister, and a colony of cyano growing on the class. Click on any of the pictures to enlarge.
Day Zero Before Treatment
Day 1
Day 2 You can clearly see the spot on the pump for my skimmer has vanished.
Day 3
Overall, there has been a reduction in cyano populations.... but they are sporadic in the tank. The colony on the pump is gone, but the other colonies seem to be relatively unaffected. I will continue treatment.....
